• Chesapeake Bay Alberg 30 Association This group prints a monthly newsletter, The Mainsheet. It also holds annual winter seminars in February and sailing events from April to November on Chesapeake Bay. Members published a maintenance manual for the Alberg 30. The group has members from California to British Columbia, Texas to Maine, both sides of the Great Lakes and a few in the interior of the U.S.

• Great Lakes Science Center The U.S. Geological Survey's Great Lakes Science Center was founded in 1927 and continues to provide scientific information for the sound management of Great Lakes fish populations and other important natural resources in the basin.
• Great Lakes Natural Resource Center The center unites people throughout the eight-state Great Lakes region, the U.S. and Canada to protect the world's greatest freshwater seas, the surrounding ecosystem, and the benefits they provide to people and wildlife.
• Bob's Nautical Web site of the late Bob Townsend featuring facts and history of the Great Lakes as well as the War of 1812. The tradition continues with his sons now managing the site.
