Have a safe summer with fair winds for your travels.

This has been a cool spring and summer by all accounts. That has not stopped some of us from sailing, but with extra clothes to fend off the cool breezes and the “on/off” rain drizzles that have been somewhat extreme on occasion.

As was with the Syronelle weekend, we hope your season has begun well. It is still not too late to join in Alberg Weekends this summer. The Syronelle was in the 12th of June at Rick and Celina Kent’s, the 13th and 14th of June at Mimico Cruising Club, one of the nicest Toronto area clubs. We expected 15 from The Chesapeake this year. Harry Gamber wants to become a Canadian after this, his 12th visit!

Also, the Whitby cruise event (July 1, the 3rd. 4th 5th and 6th ), was another fun weekend and details of it will be mentioned in the August newsletter.

Coming up will be the Picton Rendezvous on the Civic weekend in August. Our Cathie Coultis will do her magic again to put on a great party weekend with good eats and sailing too. It’s worth the sail/drive to Prince Edward County. So plan to come down this August 1st, till the 3rd at the Prince Edward Yacht Club in Picton Ontario. Please let Cathie know that you are coming too … (cathie1@rogers.blackberry.net). Also, click on the button on the right side of the newsletter home page and if you can, print & post the Picton flyer at your local club. Picton Pete says .. “Thank You”.

For those wanting a cruise in August in the west end of the lake, we will be sailing the Great Lakes Championship on August the 15th at PCYC. Bring your boat and enjoy the days of that weekend there. We need racers if you have any inclination to try it to improve your sailing ability. We will likely have extra crew if we know your needs ahead of time.

We often don’t ever get to know what our members do between sailing dates and this year, because you all know him from the work he does for the GLAA on the website, I thought you would like to know that our webmaster has made the top 100 fastest growing companies in Canada list. It was rather an interesting issue of Profit Magazine because Randy was the editor of that rag from 1986 to 1990 and started the list of the top 100 way back then. He has an article in this issue on entrepreneurial thinking and has been deemed number 98 for growth of sales volumes. Congratulations Randy on a job that continues to be well done at Inbox Marketing. We are most fortunate to have Inbox Marketing as our webmasters.

Have a safe summer with fair winds for your travels.
